Stock isn't going down when I sell
You're selling items but their stock count doesn't drop.
Symptoms
- Product or ingredient quantities stay the same after sales.
- No low-stock movement despite trading.
Likely causes
- Stock tracking is off. Tracking is off by default in Rewardly — selling alone doesn't decrement anything until you turn it on.
- No starting count was set, so there's nothing to draw down.
- Wrong stock model — you're tracking the product directly when it should be driven by ingredients, or by modifiers.
How to fix
- Turn on Track quantity on the product (or the modifier) and set its starting count.
- Pick the right model:
- Inventory (the unit model) for whole items sold as-is, like retail goods.
- Ingredients (the recipe model) for food/drink made from raw materials — selling the dish draws down its ingredients.
- For drinks or add-ons sold as modifiers, track them under Modifier Inventory.
- Make a test sale and re-check the count.
Only ingredients have a Low alert stock threshold. Products and modifiers don't raise low-stock alerts — review their current-stock views instead. See Stock Reports.
Still stuck?
If Track quantity is on with a starting count but sales still don't decrement, note the product/ingredient name and contact support.
