Card & Terminal Payments

Overview

Rewardly integrates with a range of card processors and payment terminals, so the POS can take card payments directly — and, in some cases, settle them on the tablet itself with no separate terminal.

How it works

Each card processor is a payment method type. Because card payments need gateway credentials (API keys, merchant accounts, terminal IDs), these are connected by the Rewardly team, not self-served by merchants.

Card gateways are set up by Rewardly

Card processors are not offered in the Type dropdown on your account — only the Rewardly team can pick them. To add one, contact Rewardly support: they connect the gateway and create the payment method for you. You can then open it under Payment Methods and edit the parts you control — POS label, outlets and channels. For the full list of types you can create yourself, see Payment method types.

Default setup

  1. Contact Rewardly support and tell them which processor you use.
  2. They connect the gateway with your credentials and create the payment method for you.
  3. Open Payment Methods, select the new method, and edit the details you control — its POS label, outlets and channels.
  4. It now appears as a payment tile on the POS.

Advanced options

TopicDetail
Terminal vs onlineA processor like Adyen can be set up for a physical terminal, for online payments, or both.
Tap to PayAdyen Tap to Pay takes contactless cards on the tablet; the on-screen tap position is configurable.
Fiuu CloudECR / VT+A softpos mode that runs the card reader on the same device.

Card payments generally need an internet connection — most will be blocked if the tablet is offline.
