Pet Cafe
A pet cafe charges an entry fee (a "play time" with the animals) on top of a small F&B menu. Customers tend to come back often, and parents bring kids on weekends. The Rewardly setup leans on timed entry as a product, membership-based perks, and frequent-visit stamp cards.
Example business: Pawsome — a 30-seat cat cafe charging $18/hour entry with a small drinks-and-cake menu.
Setup recipe
1. Outlet & registers
- Default Order Mode =
Dine In. - Tables on — but the table is the seating area, not table-side service. Use one big "lobby" table with high seat count.
- Outlet Register — one POS at the entry.
→ See Outlet Settings.
2. Entry as a product
The entry charge is a product with variants, not a service charge:
- Product
Entry — 1 hour($18), variantEntry — 2 hours($30). - Variant
Kid — under 12(free or discounted). - Customers earn loyalty on the entry just like food.
You can also offer an Unlimited Monthly Pass as a product, then issue a package on purchase — see Packages below.
3. Membership tiers (3 levels)
| Tier | Level | Target customer | Perk |
|---|---|---|---|
Visitor | 1 | First-time guest. | Standard rates. |
Regular | 2 | 5 visits in 90 days. | 10% off F&B. |
Pawsome+ | 3 | Monthly pass holder. | Free entry, 20% off F&B. |
- Auto upgrade on; Show on Member App on (members like seeing their tier).
→ See Membership & Tiers.
4. Monthly pass via Packages
The unlimited monthly pass is a Package triggered on product purchase:
- Package — Unlimited Month issued on purchase of
Unlimited Monthly Passproduct. - Pack contents:
- Store credit — $0 (the entry value comes from the pass itself).
- Voucher —
Free Coffee voucher × 4(one per week). - Membership upgrade to
Pawsome+for 30 days.
→ See Packages.
5. Loyalty ratio
- 1 point per $1, on both entry and F&B.
- Birth-month — 2× multiplier (for both human birthday and pet birthday — let staff override at the counter).
→ See Loyalty Points.
6. Stamp card
A visit-count stamp card works perfectly here:
- Stamp card — "10 visits, free entry."
- Rule type — Product (entry product).
- Reward —
Free 1-Hour Entryvoucher. - Repeat — yes.
→ See Stamp Cards.
7. Vouchers
| Program | Type | Event |
|---|---|---|
Welcome — Free Drink | Free item | First-time shopper |
Birthday — Free 1-Hour Entry | Free item | Birthday |
Friend referral — 2 free entries | Free item | Refer a friend |
→ See Vouchers.
8. Menu structure
- Categories — Entry · Coffee · Tea · Cakes · Pet Treats.
- Pet Treats — give it its own category. Customers love buying a treat to give the resident pet.
- Modifiers — coffee customization, cake decoration option.
→ See Menus.
9. Channels
- POS — primary.
- Online Ordering — useful for booking ahead the entry slot, if you offer it; otherwise off.
- Kiosk — usually skip; staff are already at the entry.
10. Payment
- Card terminal + PayNow — pet parents pay digital.
- Post-pay Credit — turn on if you have regulars who run a tab.
→ See Card & Terminal Payments, Post-Pay Credit.
KPIs to watch
- Repeat-visit rate — visits per member per 30 days.
- Pass holders — number of active
Pawsome+members. - F&B per visit — F&B revenue ÷ entry count (target: increase over time).
