Promo Codes
Overview
A Promo Code is a code you choose — FREEDELIVERY, say — that a customer types at online checkout. It does one thing: it waives the delivery fee on a delivery order. It doesn't take money off the items, and it isn't available for dine-in or takeout.
Find it in the sidebar under Customers & Loyalty → Programs → Promo Codes (/promo-codes).
Want money off the items instead?
A Promo Code only ever removes the delivery fee. For a discount on the order, use a Discount program, which applies on its own, or send a voucher through Campaigns.
How it works
- You create a Promo Code and tell your customers the code.
- At online checkout on a delivery order, the customer types it in the Promo code box and taps Apply.
- If the code is valid, the delivery fee is removed and the bill shows Delivery fee waived.
- The use is counted once the order is paid.
The box only appears on delivery orders, and the code only works at an outlet whose delivery provider is Self — see Delivery. With a courier provider such as Lalamove, the code is refused.
Creating a Promo Code
- Open Customers & Loyalty → Programs → Promo Codes and click Create.
- Fill in:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | An internal label for the code. |
| Code | What customers type at checkout. Letters and digits, not case-sensitive. |
| Status | Active or Inactive. An inactive code is refused. |
| Outlets | The outlets the code works at. Leave empty for every outlet. |
| Minimum spend | The order total the customer must reach. Leave empty for no minimum. |
| Start date / End date | When the code is available. Leave both empty to keep it available all the time. |
| Time slots | Days of the week and time windows in which an order can use the code. Leave empty to allow any time. |
| Redemption limit | How many orders can use the code in total. Leave empty for unlimited. |
| Can be combined with vouchers and discounts | When off, a customer can't use the code together with a voucher, and automatic discounts aren't applied while the code is waiving the fee. |
- Save. The code works straight away if its status is Active.
The list shows Used / limit for each code, so you can see how many orders have used it.

| This promo code is not active yet / has expired | The order is outside the Start date and End date. |
| This promo code is not available at this time | The order is outside the code's Time slots. |
| This promo code has been fully redeemed | The Redemption limit has been reached. |

| This promo code is not available for this delivery provider | The outlet's delivery provider isn't Self. |

If delivery is already free on the order, the code stays on it and the bill shows Delivery is already free.
